The Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party has announced a 151-member (partially announced 101 members) central convening committee of the Nationalist Liberation War generation. The first member of the announced convening committee is BNP Acting Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman and the second member is the late Arafat Rahman Koko.
A press release signed by the President of the Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party Central Committee, Bir Muktijoddha Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, stated that this convening committee has been announced with the permission of the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party, Mr. Tarique Rahman. At the same time, all the previously announced district and metropolitan committees have been declared dissolved.
The press release further said that all the leaders and activists of the Nationalist Liberation War generation have been instructed to actively participate in the upcoming national parliament election activities in coordination with the district and metropolitan presidents and general secretaries of the Freedom Fighters Party.
Earlier, on November 24, 2025, a 101-member central convening committee of the Nationalist Liberation War generation was announced with BNP leader and party MP candidate for Dhaka-6 constituency Engineer Ishraq Hossain as the convener and Advocate KM Kamruzzaman Nannu as the member-secretary.
Convener Ishraq Hossain said, “In this critical time of the country, a group is trying to belittle the great Liberation War in the hope of gaining political advantage. The Nationalist Liberation War generation will work firmly to convey the true history of the birth of this nation to the new generation and will resist all attempts to distort history politically and socially.”
He further said, “Mr. Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman’s father, Martyr President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, declared the great independence at the risk of his own and his family members’ lives and led them on the battlefield. On the other hand, my father, the brave freedom fighter Sadeq Hossain Khoka, gave up his life and liberated our beloved motherland by expelling the powerful Pakistani army.”
Ishraq Hossain further said that the nationalist liberation war generation will also work relentlessly to ensure due recognition and respect for all the martyred freedom fighters and living freedom fighters.
On the other hand, Member Secretary Advocate KM Kamruzzaman Nannu said, “This new convening committee will further accelerate the future activities of the organization. This committee will play an important role in organizing the liberation war generation, increasing organizational strength, and spreading the party’s principles and ideals among the younger generation.”
